A Year at Padley Wood - Early Autumn

The colour palette continues its shift towards golds and browns, reinforced by the yellows of the now-peaking sunflowers and the reds of emerging berries, rose-hips and turning leaves, but still punctuated here and there by purples and pinks from late-season standbys such as verbena bonariensis.

The angle of light mimics that of the Spring, but in combination with the colours, provides a mellower radiance that speaks of shoring up for colder days, but not just yet...
